Snowed in at Mall of America

Today we said good-bye to Daddy.
He is traveling to Turkey to finalize preparation for our summer trip and to reconnect with ministry partners we work with over there. He won't be back until March 7th! Drew was sad and moped around for a while all morning. He will miss his daddy!

Jake's flight was scheduled to leave ar 3:15 so we hopped in the car to pick up Joel (Nydam-friend going with to keep Jake safe!!) and the snow began to fall. That was the beginning of our adventure in taking Jake to the airport. It took us an hour and a half to get to the airport and by the time we got there we were driving in 4-6 inches of snow. Thank the Lord for 4 wheel drive trucks, otherwise I think we would still be stuck on the road somewhere.

Drew and Matthew slept most of the way there. Drew woke up to say good-bye and to say...."Oh, the snow!" As we waved our final farwell I couldn't see more that 200 yards in front of me and we decided to take a detour home: 3 hours at the Mall of America!!

We found our way in the storm and spent 3 hours hanging out at the Lego Land area and Nickelodeon Universe. We saw Lego dinosours and raced Lego cars down a track (see video). We ate cinamon pretzels and watched in awe as rollercoasters and log rides roared above us. Drew and Matthew both loved it!

Drew also experienced his first ride. As you can see by the picture and video, we had to do it more than once!

Time flew since we were having fun, but we still needed to tackle the storm. Around 5:00 we headed to the truck to find the snow had let up a little. Let me try to give you a glipse of how bad the storm was. When I got to the mall I couldn't even see where I was and what side I was on...when I left I saw IKEA. It wasn't there when I entered!!!

To end my story, we made it home safely after 1 1/2 hours. But the roads weren't as bad and I could see the cars in front of me. We praise the Lord for our safe trip home.
As for Jake, I think he left...we will have to wait and see!!

Our New Blog!

I have decided that I needed a new blog where I could actually change things when I needed to. My other one wasn't working for me! So here we are starting a new blog. Tonight is late and Jake is trying to pack for Turkey so I am not able to write much, but I wanted to get a post up to say, hey we are up and running!!!
